MyTrueAncestry created a video for Raz Akram, showing some of his ancient ancestors, and what they may have looked like, and how they may have dressed. Note: These are not images of Raz's real ancestors. Just a concept to tell a story of his history.
Raz Akram, Alisha Akram, and James Akram share an extraordinary amount of SNPs with the Griffin Warrior. The Griffin Warrior is a direct ancestor of the Akram family. The data also shows we share a high amount autosomes (Chromosomes) with Ancient Greeks. The discovery of the Griffin Warrior in 2015 has reshaped how the world now views Ancient Greece. The mythology of Ancient Greece in Homer's books may not be fiction after all.
According to history and all historical and religious scriptures, the Canaanites just vanished off the face of the earth from Southern Levant. Not true, we're still here. Our DNA tests proved that we are Canaanites. We Canaanites live all around the world. We understand, and have been told, that having Canaanite genes is rare, so us few Canaanites around the world, in our family's case, most likely of Greek origins, are proud to carry those genes.
Sparta was a Greek city-state. It is the capital of the Laconia prefecture. It is in the south of Peloponnese peninsula. During antiquity, it was extremely powerful. Today, it is a small city. 16,726 people lived there according to the 2001 census.
The Mycenaeans were interlinked with Spartans overtime, and it is believed that some from the ancient Mycenaean Greece may have lived in Sparta later on. Evidence suggests that some of our ancestors were excavated in Sparta (current day Laconia) and the Island of Salamis.
Spartans were around between 6th and 2nd Century BCE.
Persia is where it all started for our ancestors. One of the first civilisations on earth who formed laws, governments, teachings of philosophy and science. From the Neolithic age, dating all the way back to 8000 BCE is where our ancestors started in Persia. If you have the time, this hour long documentary is well worth a watch to discover the marvels of Persia.
This video explains our ancestors from all the various Central Asian Empires. Rather than posting separate videos for each empire, this video perfectly explains the timeline of the Central Asian Empires throughout the ages.
Needs no introduction. Everyone has heard of the Romans. Our ancestors, most likely Greeks who headed west (and not East towards to Southern Levant) were in the Roman Empire for the best part of 2000 years according to records, most likely serving in the Roman Army, and according to certain records in office. This fun filled, quick and witty narration documenting the complete Roman Empire history in less than 3 hours is a must watch.
With so many parts of British history to choose from, we found this video of what Iron Age England would have looked like back then. Our ancestors were at Lake Meare, Somerset around 208 BCE, so this is a fitting video. The roundhouses scattered across wetlands must have been a sight to see.
The very mention of Genghis Khan and most people will know who you are talking about. Our Mongolian ancestry still lives in the Phenotypes in some of our current day extended family members, which is also one of the reasons that intrigued Raz Akram to have DNA tests done. This short film on the Mongolian Empire gives you an insight of the history of the tribe and nation.
A lot of people are stumped when they are told Columbus did not find a new land, he just stumbled upon a land that was already inhabited. And according to the latest DNA data, the indigenous people of America arrived via the Bering straight from Mongolia, China and Central Asia to the shores of Alaska. Hence, where the link between our family and Indigenous people of America keeps cropping on DNA data as being our ancestors. This short film explains the how, the why and the where of everything you need to know about the indigenous people of America.
Pakistan is still a young nation, but the land is old as the earth. Many people have fought over the land throughout history. Empires have come and gone, great leaders and warriors have conquered the land and then disappeared in the history of time, and yet, the diverse ethnic groups that make up the modern Pakistan population, is a testament to the diversity of the melting pot of civilisations in the past and present, that is today's Pakistan.
