Our DNA deep dive shows we had direct ancestors in Early Helladic period in Euboea, Greece. An island off of the east coast of Attica (Athens) between 2827 BCE to 2200 BCE. They are better known as Abantes. Our ancestors may have been there a lot longer, but we can only go by the latest archaeological and scientific findings.
Our DNA deep dive also shows us that we are directly related to the Griffin Warrior of Nestor Palace in Greece. The Griffin Warrior's body was excavated in 2015 by Archeologists. This DNA gene is by far the strongest Deep Dive SNP marker in our genes.
He lived there during the Bronze Age (1500 BCE). Griffin Warrior was of the ancient Minoan and Mycenaean civilisation of Greece, most likely originated from the Island of Crete. He was the ruler of the land and most likely a highly decorated warrior.
We also have direct ancestors who were excavated in Sparta (current day Laconia) and Spata Attica (current day Athens), as well as Central Greece. In all excavations, it is believed they were all warriors.
Our DNA samples have also matched with the Achaeans of Greece, too, which cements the findings that our ancestors were Greek.
The Iliad and the Odyssey written by Homer during the late bronze age was believed to be a work of fiction for all Greek Mythology. However, since the finding of the Griffin Warrior, people are not so sure now.
The Griffin warrior's genes were pure. There are no admixtures, which suggests that he was Minoan and originally from Crete. No other haplogroup admixtures have been found in his DNA sample, therefore, the ancestors before him did not mix with any other civilisation.
The ancestors were in Ancient Greece for more than 3,000 years

Our DNA deep dive and sample matches show us that we are directly related through ancestry to the people of Southern Levant of the Bronze Age (2250 BCE to 250 CE (Iron Age)). And we have also found out through DNA that we are Canaanites. The land was originally called Canaan. Canaanites are believed to be descendants of Greeks and Central West Asians (Armenians etc), Persians, and the original settlers in Southern Levant from Mespotomia and Banesh civilisation.
Our ancestors lived in Bronze Age town of Yehud in Israel and Sidon , Lebanon (Saida is the modern day name). Lebanon today. We also had ancestors who lived in the bibical town of Megiddo (a.k.a Tel Megiddo meaning Armageddon in Greek).
Sidon (Saida) was an important center of trade for the Phoenicians and later for the Persian Achaemenid Empire. The Bible describes Sidon in several passages. The city was conquered by the crusader ruler Baldwin I in 1110. Today it is the capital of Lebanon's South Governorate.
Tel Megiddo was the main trade town that connected the East-West and North-South Corridor of the Middle East at the time. Its current day location is in Israel. We also have ancestral links to Ba'ja, Jordan during the Neolithic age . All of the above mentioned are labelled as Canaanites according to archaeological and Biotech reports.
In the Iron Age, our ancestors lived in the North of Lebanon and have been distinctively labelled as Roman Era Greco (250 CE).
It is believed that some, or all of our Phoenician & Canaanite ancestors either married into, or converted to, Judaism during the middle to late Bronze Age. Our Ancestors were there before, during, and after, both Moses and Jesus's life. Our current day ancestors are more than likely Lebanese because of the Canaanite ancestry link and location of the ancient towns. The ancestors were in Southern Levant for over 2,000 years.

Our DNA deep dive shows us we are directly related to the Karasuk culture of North Central Asia (Current day Russia, Kazakhstan and neighbouring states). Our ancestors lived there around 1480 BCE.
The origins of the Karasuk culture are complex, but it is generally accepted that its origins lie both with the Andronovo culture and local cultures of the Yenisei. The ethnic identity of the Karasuk is problematic, as the Andronovo culture has been associated with the Indo-Iranians while the local cultures have been considered as unconnected to the steppe.
Nevertheless, a specifically Proto-Iranian identity has been proposed for the Karasuk culture. The Karasuk tribes have been described by archaeologists as exhibiting pronounced Caucasoid/Europoid features. George van Driem has suggested a connection with the Yeniseian and Burushaski people, proposing a Karasuk languages group.
Keyser et al. (2009) published a genetic study of ancient Siberian cultures, the Andronovo culture, the Karasuk culture, the Tagar culture and the Tashtyk culture. They surveyed four individuals of the Karasuk culture of four different sites from 1400 BCE to 800 BCE

Our DNA deep dive shows that our ancestral link to Persia goes all the way back to the Neolithic age and maybe beyond. This proves that we are of Indo-Aryan origins and not Dravidians of India.
Our ancestors have been dated as far back as 8,000 BCE. Our connection to Persia is now recorded as being nearly 10,000 years old (8,000 BCE to current day)
It also explains our Greek, Southern Levant and Jordan ancestral connections. Over the 4,000 years up until the Bronze Age, our ancestors must have travelled west towards Greece, east towards India, and north and north east towards Central Asia, Russia, Siberia, and Mongolia.
Our haplogroup J1 is also a direct match to the old Royal family of Iran, namely the Golastan Palace built around 1600 CE (see image above). We have an ancestral seat at the palace, so the DNA data from various Bioformatic companies suggest.
Furthemore, the Banesh civilisation of Persia is one of the oldest civilisations in the world.

Our DNA deep dive suggests our ancestors were also in the Roman Empire, dating from 1,000 BCE to 1,000 CE, which also explains why we still have ancestors who are Italian, and are living in Italy.
The haplogroup RB1 which is mainly now found in Europe, also runs through our family, hence, the Indo-Aryan connection. Majority of our ancestors in Europe lived in Rome during this period, however, excavations around most of Europe now state that our family moved around a lot during this part of history. This can only mean that our ancestors were in the Roman Army and weren't just travelling around on a Jolly Boy's Outing.
One of the bodies excavated from under the Palazzo della Cancelleria, which dates back to 1,000 CE is an ancestor of ours. The Pallazzo della Cancelleria was built in 1489 CE, and is owned by Vatican City.
Our ancestors were in the Roman empire for over 2,000 years.

Our DNA is also linked directly to Great Britain. Yes, the Akram family is also as stumped as you are. We were taken aback when finding this out. Our connection to Great Britain goes all the way back to 1745 BCE and right up to the current day.
In 1745 BCE, our ancestors were in the North East (Yorkshire). In 1100 BCE we had ancestors in Brighton. In 208 BCE, our ancestors were in Lake Meare, Somerset, England. 550 CE in Chichester. 1200 CE in London. 1250 CE at Cambridge St. John's Hospital. 1290 CE at Augustinians Friars, Cambridge. 1561 CE Clopton, Cambridgeshire. 1844 CE at Trinity Church, Cambridge. And then the 1960 CE to current day in St.Ives, Cambridgeshire. These are just some of the ancestral links to the U.K. We haven't named them all on here.
We have strong Scottish ancestry going back one thousand years. More information on this on the 'Royal Connections' page. (Account required for access to Royal Connections pages).
All these are direct link ancestors with close genetic distances in accordance to timelines. However, we do not know the story of all of them. We know of everyone from 1960 CE and onwards. We are working on retrieving the information about the 1844 CE ancestor from Trinity Church, Cambridge, who was most likely a Christian missionary.

Our DNA deep dive and samples suggest that our ancestors were widespread throughout Central Asia, from Kazakhstan to Afghanistan; from Armenia to Kyrgyzstan. Our ancestors were widespread throughout this region from 2675 BCE to current day.
The link between Central Asia to Europe, Middle East, Siberia, Mongolia, Pakistan, India, Far East, and Africa is unparalleled. On the global map we have studied of our ancestors, no matter where anyone was on the planet, they had a link to Central Asia.
Even our earliest ancestors that link Pakistan directly to Scandinavia came from Africa. You can check this on http://scaledinnovation.com/gg/snpTracker.html by going to the dropbox 'Select An Example' and click on 'Q Nordic and Pakistsani', and this will show you a map of the movement out of Africa during the Paleolithic period. The movement went through Pakistan and towards Central Asia before moving west to Scandinavia, which is probably why we have strong ancestral links to Scandinavia, even from Bronze Age and onwards.

The DNA samples collected in Mongolia by Archaeologists and studied by scientists suggest we have strong DNA link to Mongolia from 1000 BCE to current day.
This land locked country is well known to the world because of Genghis Khan, a ruler and a warrior so ferocious that his army took over nearly the whole of Asia, Russia and all the way to Europe in a very short space of time.
The Mongols were so feared even 1400 years before Genghis Khan's reign, the Chinese (Qin Dynasty) built the whole of the Great Wall of China to try and keep them out.
According to the ancestral globe map we have analysed, our ancestors in Mongolia came from all corners of the country, ranging from 1000 BCE to Genghis Khan's era and beyond.
Our ancestors in Mongolia have been there for more than 2000 years.

The Scandinavian link to our family is quite strong, even to the present day. As we found out recently, we have close relatives with a British and Scandinavian background. As discussed in the third paragraph of the Central Asia column on this page, the Q Nordic and Pakistani gene most likely goes back to the Palaeolithic age.
We have ancestors in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, dating back to 1000 BCE to the current day. This Scandinavian connection first came to our attention when we had our first autosomal DNA test with Ancestry.com. A current day relative that no one knew about popped up and was showing a match of 335cM (centiMorgans), which is quite close (2nd to 3rd cousins). That's quite a high match, especially if you've never heard of them.
We then had our DNA evaluated further, and suddenly, the link between us and our Scandinavian ancestors became clear.
According to data, we have ancestral seats at Christianborg Palace, Denmark, as well as in Norway and Sweden.

The DNA samples collected from various areas of Europe and Central Asia by Archaeologists and studied by scientists suggest we have DNA link to the Huns from the 4th to the 6th century C.E
The Huns, especially under their King Attila, made frequent and devastating raids into the Eastern Roman Empire. In 451, they invaded the Western Roman province of Gaul, where they fought a combined army of Romans and Visigoths at the Battle of the Catalaunian Fields, and in 452, they invaded Italy.
The nomadic people are thought to have come from what is now Kazakhstan, and swept across the eastern steppes after about 350 A.D. Some scholars think they were a Turkic tribe descended from the Xiongnu, a group of pastoral nomads who unified much of Asia during the late third and early second centuries B.C.

Roopkund is a glacial lake located at an altitude of about 5,029 m in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. When the ice melts, hundreds of human skeletons are seen floating in the water or below the surface.
There is no historical evidence of any trade route to Tibet in the area, but Roopkund is located on an important pilgrimage route to Nanda Devi, with festivities taking place approximately once every 12 years. The group consisting of 500 to 600 people were most likely pilgrims. The primary travellers were all from the same area, and they had hired a group of porters, who knew the area, to carry their baggage up the high mountains.
On coming to the lake, they had probably climbed down the slopes to get fresh water when the clouds moved in. With no shelter in the open Himalayas, many, or possibly all of them, perished. The icy water preserved their bodies for hundreds of years. Some of them even had hair and nails as well as pieces of clothing intact. Times of India (June 26, 2015.

The Ghaznavid emirate was established in Afghanistan in the late tenth century AD, out of the disintegrating rule of the Samanid emirs. Various local rulers around Afghanistan and in Baluchistan were brought under Ghaznavid control and a conglomerate empire was constructed out of tribes and sedentary states in Transoxania. The high point of Ghaznavid power was under the reign of Emir Mahmud, 998 to 1030, who expanded his territories by military conquest until it stretched from Azerbaijan in the west to the Ganges valley of northern India in the east.
The Ghaznavid Empire was a Khorāṣānian Turkic 'persianate' Sunni Muslim state, which existed from 975 to 1187. It was centred in Ghazni, a city in the present Afghanistan, and later Lahore, a city in Punjab, Pakistan. It ruled much of Persia, Transoxania, Pakistan and the northern parts of India.
